AI's Hidden Risks: Lessons from Nexus

What I learned about AI’s dangers from Nexus while preparing to showcase our new app in Paris.

AI's Hidden Risks: Lessons from Nexus

Dear friends,

Berlin has me back. I need to get used to the city life again. Noises. People. Traffic. Fashion. Attitudes. Subways and no nature to escape to. Why am I here?

But it's not as bad as it seems. Very happy to be around the people I love, my computer and my bathtub.

And as well I will be soon be on the move again. In early April, we’ll be hosting a workshop in Paris at a prestigious fashion brand and institute, where we’ll showcase our creative AI app.

I am pretty proud that the app is almost finished and can't wait to get it out to the world. Still a couple of things need to be fixed, but you will be the first who will get early access.

On another exciting note, I’ve snagged an invite to test Manus AI. This smart AI can tackle tasks like researching properties and crafting reports with little guidance. As a beta tester, I get three prompts—kind of like a genie’s lamp. Maybe I’ll wish for more codes!

Notion’s been on my mind. I’ve used it for years to store notes, projects, and my diary, but their new AI search made me realize companies can scan everything—same with Gmail and Google Drive. I always knew they had my data, but AI makes it too easy to access. So, I’m switching to Obsidian for security.

I listened to Nexus by Yuval Noah Harari as an audiobook. It explores the history of information, from book printing to AI, and highlights the dangers of misuse. It’s a revealing look at what’s happening now, and I recommend it.

A friend asked me to add a joke to my newsletter. So here we go:
What causes dry skin? A towel.

All right. Funny, funny.
Wishing you all a great start of the week!

Much love,
Marius
