Discovering the Power of Newsletters and Transforming Visuals with TouchDesigner VJ Studio

Beyond the Inbox

Dear friends,

this week I spent a lot of time doing two things:

  1. Learning about newsletter marketing
  2. Updating my TouchDesigner VJ Studio

Newsletter Marketing

Newsletters are still a thing! I personally have unsubscribed from most of my newsletters. But a couple of them I keep…

The reason why I do not unsubscribe is because they have great content. I really enjoy the newsletter from Hugo Hoppmann which is called PRESENT.

I do like others like the ones from Hyphen.Works.

Today we live in a world which is bursting with information. You don't know who and what to believe. Also Social Media channels are changing rapidly. Maybe your 20.000 followers on Instagram will be gone, once Instagram is not trending anymore.

Because of this it is such a valuable thing to send people newsletters with updates directly into their mailbox. Nobody likes spammers though… It’s not an easy balance. 😬

I decided to send a newsletter once a week. Every Friday. I hope that people are ok with this.

If you want to know more about newsletters or want to share thoughts – please let me know.

Touchdesigner VJ Studio

I took some time in the trains to update the VJ mixer which I developed in Touchdesigner.

I will release a new tutorial soon. But here a sneak peek:

Some new features:

  1. When I hit record it exports the video as high-res, Instagram Post, Instagram Post with User Interface, Instagram Story, Instagram Story with User Interface, and only the UI as high-res. Thats pretty cool. Like this I can generate Social Media content on the fly.
  2. I added an FX module. That means I can import comps which modify the content which I imported in the sampler decks. This gives me much more freedom to combine effects and compositions.

The music is by my good old friend Arthur Robert.

Thank you for reading!

Much love!

Marius
