Bridging Art and AI: Transforming Political Spaces

Dear friends,

What a week — and what a month it has been! 😮‍💨

I’m happy to share that after a month of preparation, our AI installation at the German parliament (Bundestag) is complete and has been a success.

This project, a collaboration with Paula Kühn — an expert in AI and digital art — involved developing a custom tool that transforms user input into an ongoing artistic video.

At the conference titled “Shaping AI,” attendees contributed their thoughts on how AI changes our society. Using a combination of ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion, we translated these insights into videos with captions from famous speeches. The more contributions we received, the longer the video got.

I programmed the tool in NodeJS and React and control ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion via their API. I plan to release the code to this tool soon, so you can see that this is actually not rocket science.

Additionally, Paula has trained a custom model, designed with a dreamy, CGI aesthetic, which will also be available for download shortly.

Now back to “normal”.
