Daily routines in writing and a compendium of today’s most powerful AI image prompts

Dear friends,

It’s difficult to keep a daily routine with writing. Especially when being conscious that other people might read it.

So far some people are reading my stuff. Not many, but hey… Thank you if you are reading this!

Summer came back to Berlin and I am sitting in the park and typing on my iPad. A year ago I got myself an iPad mini because it is actually really nice to type on it. You can hold it like a book and use two thumbs. So much better than the phone or a laptop.

Website of Spells

Last week I got invited to contribute to a project called Spells.

It is initiated from my dear friend Max Kuwertz and is a compendium of today’s most powerful AI image prompts. The crux is that only Midjourney is allowed. And no image remixing or using artist names to get a specific style. That’s why the name is called Spells…

But it makes it so much more difficult. Yesterday I spent hours to get an old trashy, black and white film effect. Like in the cyberpunk movie Tetsuo (Which is one of my favourite movies).

But it did not work out at all. All images end up in good and smooth quality. I added all kind of black and white prompts. Promts to use some old cameras or very grainy films. Nothing really worked.

Here are the closest results I got of some trashy analog black and white photography.

scifi cyborg , scary, cyberpunk, trash, metal, LIGHT: light from the top, rim lighting, Bolex H16 REX-5 (1.00) , 16mm film (1.00), black and white, very heavy grain (2.00), ISO 5000, over exposure, blurry, vignette — no sepia, colour, sharp
flying fish, world press photo photo, film photography, lomography, fuji film, grainy film, filmgrain, fast shutter speed, shot on film canon camera, 28mm lens, F2.0, B&W, blur — ar 4:5
astronaut in the jungle, extreme close up, camera: Bolex H16 REX-5 (1.00) , 16mm film (0.5), black and white, very heavy grain (1.00), ISO 2000, over exposure — no sepia

I wish Midjourney had more setting to play with like StableDiffusion.

Other than that I am waiting for the green light with a very exciting project by the music platform Level. Years ago I coded their blog and now we are going to update it. For this I plan to use the framework SvelteKit.

SvelteKit is amazing and so much more easy to learn than React. Together with Manus Nijhoff we developed a starter kit for SvelteKit combined with the CMS called Prismic. More about that later.

Thank you fro reading!

Much love,

Marius
