Comparing Keyframe Control and Fluidity in Modern Animation Workflows

Deforum vs. AnimateDiffusion: Navigating the World of AI Animation Tools

Dear friends,

until now I used Stable Diffusions Deforum for my AI animations.

I really like all the creative freedom it offers. Especially the possibility to keyframe prompts and camera movements.

The only annoying part was always the flickering.
That happened, because each new frame is always based on the previous one. There are ways to reduce the flickering by using a higher cadence setting or interpolating frames — but I almost never managed to get a really fluent movement.

Now using a special workflow with ComfyUI I am able to generate super fluid animations. Even better, I can throw in a couple of images, and it generates a fluid morph effect between them.

The downside here is, that I can not make very long animations and also it is difficult to control the movement of the artwork and the camera.

But for now I am very amazed by the results and will dive deeper into this way of working.

I recently was asked to do an AI animation for Mc Laren’s car unveiling event in Munich at Bergson. 🤯 Images will follow soon.

Much love,

Marius
