Costumes, Masks and Very Big Puppets
Visiting Hannah Kindler at the Cité internationale des arts
Dear friends,
before heading to Bangkok I visited my good old friends in Paris.
One of them is Hannah Kindler, an artist who works a lot with textiles. Currently she has a residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
She uses old fabrics, takes them apart and sews them into costumes, masks and very big puppets.
She uses those for photos, videos and performances. A lot of her work is about motherhood and about the female figures we know from art history.
Also she co-founded a collective called M.A.R.S. which means Maternal Artistic Research Studio.
It was beautiful to spend some sunny days together at the Seine and eat croissants and self-made waffles.
Now my journey continues and I try to send share updates frequently.
Much love,
Marius
