Talking to Images
First look at FLUX.1 Kontext and the custom AI app I’ve been building
Dear friends,
I just returned back to Berlin and need to clean up my apartment. But I still managed to write my weekly newsletter. So I am a bit proud 😅
Working & Teaching in the field of AI
Creative AI App
I know that I am talking about this already since a long time. But things are moving forward with my AI app. 🚀
Here’s what it can do:
Spin up custom websites with creative AI functionality in minutes
Let fashion brands generate visuals based on their own collections
Give illustrators a personal site to generate new images in their own style, trained on their own work
Create playful projects, like a small website where you can generate your own Pokémons, Avatars etc.
Run a stable backend with ComfyUI, A1111, and Deforum
Connect to both open-source LLMs and commercial ones like ChatGPT
Build personal tools I actually use and make them available for others too
The idea is to create something practical, flexible, and actually fun to use.
FLUX.1 Kontext
I’ve been looking into this new image model called FLUX.1 Kontext by Black Forest Labs.
It is very similar to the images which you can generate with ChatGPT which means that you can talk to it instead of classical image prompting.
Take a reference photo and keep the same face or object through every new scene
Understand quick text edits like “make him laugh” or “put her into space” and apply them right away
Let you stack changes step by step without the image falling apart
Follow style cues from a reference picture so colour and vibe stay consistent
Handle local fixes, for example removing a logo or adding snow, without touching the rest of the frame
Respond fast, roughly eight times quicker than the GPT image model in my tests
For example I took the image above which I created in Midjourney a while ago. And then told Flux.1 Kontext to:
transform this to a landscape with black sky and bright big moon. make it mystical and cinematic, keep the bight colors in the foreground, the landscape should be even more bright, there should be a very surreal contrast between the bright saturated landscape and the dark background
DAMN°
Also I am a proud to be featured in the current issue of the DAMN° magazine.
DAMN° is an independent biannual print magazine and digital platform that explores opinions on contemporary culture.
Thank you for reading and following my journey!
Much love,
Marius
