Last week I signed the contract for the Ghosthouse in Bangkok!
In this house I will build the set for Ghostbirth 2. And live there with my crew.
The house is in the center of Bangkok. And it’s next to a mall with six floors full of camera equipment shops. So that’s good when you make a movie…
The area feels very cosy too. Nice coffee shops and restaurants. And I am already friends with one of the coffee shop owners around the corner.
The house itself is an old Bangkok shophouse with five floors.
At first I was not convinced because the staircase was not connected to the lobby area downstairs. But when the owners heard that this is important for the movie, they built an extra connection door.
Now you can reach the staircase directly from the lobby.
The house is really massive. More than 300 square meters. When you stand inside you think: Wow. It’s really massive.
There is beautiful light, and everything has a nice patina. It doesn’t feel sterile and therefore perfect for a haunted massage studio.
Next week I’m going to Japan for three weeks. I will visit the wedding of a friend and enjoy some nature. When I come back, I will move directly into our new house.
Aneta Vaškelytė, our production assistant, will come from Berlin and help me set up the house. It’s completely empty, so we need to organize basically everything on the lowest budget possible.
And then on I will send regular updates. Because this is when the production of Ghostbirth 2 officially starts.
On another note, I’m doing a lot of storyboarding with Midjourney. I’m trying to recreate some shots that help us find our visual language.
I will share more of these soon. But here is already a little preview of the tone and mood of the movie.

wir wünschen dir für dein Projekt viel Glück, lieber Marius. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf den Fortschritt deiner Aktivitäten. Leider sind die Fotos ganz überwiegend ziemlich dunkel. Ob das mit dem Thema deines Projekts oder dem Namen deines Projekts zu tun hat, weiß ich nicht. Vielleicht klärst du mich auf.
