YOYOYO Goes Live
How Paula Kühn contributed to the AI work for PORTO ROCHA × Nano Banana Pro
Dear friends,
last week was pretty exciting. The YOYOYO project finally went live.
YOYOYO is a collaboration between Google DeepMind and the design studio Porto Rocha. The image side was built with Nano Banana Pro, Google’s new image model.
Paula Kühn, who is my partner in THE ROBOTS, contributed AI consulting and design support. She helped shape how the generative system was used across product, motion, and the visual identity.
I think it’s interesting that AI is not just sitting at the end of the pipeline, spitting out images. It actually becomes part of the design process itself. You make a decision, the system shows you something, and that impacts the next decision.
Since the launch our inbox is burning. So many great people writing in. We feel super grateful for opportunities like this.
Next week Paula will come to Foz da Cova, our small village in the Portuguese mountains.
Then we can deep dive into computers and nature.
