Prismic + SvelteKit: Your Ultimate Headless CMS and Framework Combo

Dear friends,

Some days ago Prismic released a new starter-kit for SvelteKit.

Announcement of the Prismic / Sveltekit

Prismic is a Headless CMS which is super minimal, has a free plan and is great for big and small website projects.

SvelteKit is a Javascript framework like React or Vue but just better and more easy to learn.

That’s all it takes.

Since some years Manus Nijhoff and me are collaborating on website projects. We are very fond with the combination of Prismic and SvelteKit and even created our own starter-kit called PrelteKit.

It enables us to start a website not from scratch but all the complicated parts like routing (linking between pages) and fetching content is already taken care of.

Now with this release from Prismic we are happy that someone built this starter-kit officially. We are now having a closer look at it and see if we can improve things. But it was great to see that our own theme was very close to the one which was just released from Prismic. That shows that we did quite a good job.

Prismic also added a great tool called Slice Machine. It makes it much more convenient to generate slices / modules which the editor of the website can chose from.

On another note:

Yesterday I also released my Touchdesigner VJ setup called TDVJ.

Its a simple two channel mixer which allows you to change Touchdesigner TOX files on the go.

That gives you the freedom to implement any Touchdesigner patch while the show is live. It also displays the custom components of this imported file, so parameters can be controlled from the outside.

I made this tutorial to explain it:

And here is a link to the project: https://github.com/marius-jopen/tdvj

I am super happy that it is online now. I wanted to release it already since such a long time. But now I finally did it.

Curious to see what you come up with.

Much love,

Marius
