The 100k & Admin Day
Dear friends,
After being busy with life, I am slowly getting back into work mode.
I spent a lot of time on administrative tasks today — tying up loose ends, going through my books, and answering emails, etc.
Having worked on commissioned and self-initiated projects for over 10 years now, it has always been complicated to keep track of payments for all those numerous projects.
I finally developed a system for keeping track of all projects. Now I can see which invoices are still open, whom I still need to pay, and I have a general overview of everything.
I’ve also devised a system that allocates the money I earn into different pockets or bank accounts. For instance, I have one bank account solely for rent, one for taxes and savings, etc. This way, I don’t end up spending all my money thoughtlessly. It’s a straightforward system, but it has made a significant difference.
I plan to create a short video about all of this and make the tools I’ve developed available to the public.
However, not today.
Also, today is 100k day. I met with Armin, and we were working on a design update for our studio website of 100k. Right now the website shows or projects nicely but is lacking the presentation of our services, clients and further information.
Working on your own website is much more challenging than working on websites for others. It often feels like the project is never quite good enough or never truly finished.
We really admire the AWSDM website. They showcase their projects in a captivating manner and effectively present additional information about the studio.
I’d like to conclude by mentioning that today I joined the PRESENT community. This project is led by Hugo Hoppmann, who is a great designer living and working in Berlin. He excels in using social media and building a community. It’s incredibly inspiring to follow his journey.
Thank you for reading and all the positive feedback!
Much love,
Marius
